Summing Up the Situation in Syria

For the United States:  Two Choices, One Wrong, the Other One Erroneous

One of the problems that great military powers have is a failure to recognize their limitations.  Because the United States is the global military power it is easy to get the impression the U. S. military can fix any problem in the world.  It cannot.

In Syria the U. S. has the choice of standing by, and indirectly helping a murderous dictator who brutally wages war on his own people and who hates the United States and Israel, and the choice of aiding the rebel forces who brutally wage war on the Syrian people and who despise the United States and Israel. 

Yep, that’s about it.
