Man Bites Dog – Republican Governor Rick Snyder of Michigan Vetoes Bill That Allows Guns in Day Care Centers

Maybe He Didn’t Get the Memo

Why wouldn’t it be a good idea to have unlimited firearms in a day care center?  Gee, this Forum can’t think of a single reason why the type of automatic weapons that were used in the horrific massacre at a school in Connecticut shouldn’t be allowed in day care centers. 

But apparently Michigan’s governor can.

DETROIT (AP) — Michigan Gov. Rick Snyder has vetoed legislation that would allow concealed weapons in churches, schools and daycare centers.

Yes, The Dismal Political Economist is just as amazed as every other normal person that any legislature would have a single vote to allow guns in day care centers.  But then, most of what Republican state legislatures do is amazing.
