Ryan Says "Distortion" of His Plan to End Medicare Cost GOP NY 26th District

He Needs to See Adlai Stevenson

Rep. Paul Ryan (R, WI) who authored a plan to end Medicare and replace it with a subsidized premium for private insurance is being quoted today as saying that Democratic distortions of his Plan are what caused the Republican candidate to lose a Special Election in NY's 26th Congressional District.

What Mr. Ryan does not apparently understand is that while in politics it is usually necessary to distort an opponent's position to make a point, in the case of the Medicare Proposal that the GOP House passed, such distortion is not required.  The Plan fails on its own merits.  See

Adlai Stevenson, a former two time Presidential candidate is reportedly quoted as saying

"If they will stop telling lies about me, I will stop telling the truth about them"

Mr. Ryan needs to heed that advice.
